After your visit, the last thing you want is to drive somewhere else for your medications. At Clínica Hispana Mangum we have an on-site pharmacy: after your visit you buy the medicines our doctor prescribed right here and leave with your treatment and instructions in your language, with no extra stop.

How does it work?

1. Our doctor examines you and prescribes what you need.
2. When you leave the exam room, you go to the pharmacy in the same building on Mangum Rd.
3. You buy your medications, with a generic option where one exists, which usually costs less and has the same active ingredient.

Clinic prescriptions only

The pharmacy only sells the medications prescribed by the Clínica Hispana Mangum doctor during your visit. It does not take prescriptions from other doctors or other clinics.

We explain how to take them

Before you leave, staff explain:

• How much to take and how often.
• Whether to take it with food or on an empty stomach.
• For how many days, especially antibiotics, which must be finished.
• Which side effects are common and which need a visit.

Tips for using medications safely

1. Keep an up-to-date list of everything you take, including vitamins and herbal remedies.
2. Do not share medications or use leftovers from another illness.
3. Store them in a cool, dry place out of children's reach.
4. Do not take two cold products at once: many repeat the same ingredient.
5. Ask before mixing medications with alcohol.

Generic or brand name?

FDA-approved generics have the same active ingredient, dose and use as the brand-name drug. If you are unsure which is right for you, ask at the pharmacy.

Medication emergencies

If someone took an overdose or a child swallowed medication, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222, or 911 if there is trouble breathing or loss of consciousness.
