IV vitamin therapy delivers fluids, vitamins and minerals directly into a vein. Many people look for it to rehydrate after being sick, a very hot day or a period of fatigue. At Clínica Hispana Mangum the clinic's medical team does a brief evaluation before starting and monitors the infusion from start to finish.

Who might it help?

  • People who are dehydrated from intense heat, exercise or a bout of vomiting or diarrhea that is already improving.
  • People who have trouble drinking enough fluids by mouth.
  • People looking for hydration and vitamin support alongside good food and rest.

IV therapy does not replace treatment for an illness or a visit to find the cause of fatigue.

What is the visit like?

  1. Evaluation: questions about your health, medications and allergies, plus vital signs.
  2. Choosing the right IV for you.
  3. Placing a small line in an arm vein.
  4. Infusion and monitoring, usually 30 to 60 minutes, seated and comfortable.

Who should not get it without a review?

People with heart failure, kidney disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure or pregnancy need careful evaluation, because too much fluid can be dangerous. That is why there is always an evaluation first.

If the fatigue does not go away

When fatigue lasts for weeks, it is worth looking for the cause with blood tests: anemia, low vitamin B12 or thyroid problems are common.

When to go to the emergency room

Confusion, fainting, urinating very little or vomiting that will not stop are signs of severe dehydration that need emergency care.
